Cattski Live Demos - New

Notes from the artist:
The Live Demos are back after a short hiatus. I had to give special attention to the promotion of Kismet The Singles. And here, it returns with a song called New. This song will soon be part of Zafra's album due for release on 2010.

I wrote this song as a reaction to one particular "separation" incident that happened to me this year which turned out to be a real blessing, hopefully for the other party too. Funny how sometimes relationships are ruined because of an "outside" force. It was almost like the force was brought in the picture for a reason. When things fall apart, its probably for the best, and the only thing you could do is let go and never look back...

Yes, never...

9 Days of Cheese-mas with Keso de Gallo

It may be the season of gift-giving or Santa Claus but if there’s on thing Filipinos can relate to more than anything, it’s the food.

That’s why this time of the year, the spotlight is, more than ever, on the kitchen creativity of females who are tasked to concoct sumptuous Noche Buena dishes for the whole family. For most Pinoys, togetherness and merriment during Christmas means bonding over yummy feasts in a roomful of family and friends. Or that was how it used to be until the recent onslaught of typhoons that destroyed homes and took lives of many Filipinos.

But even if a lot of people may have lost properties or loved ones, the innate optimism still lies in the Pinoy blood and this inspired Kraft Eden Cheese to bring back the joy and faith of Filipinos during the festive occasion. The well-loved cheese brand launched the Keso De Gallo – a nationwide event coinciding with the traditionally celebrated Misa De Gallo (a Catholic Christmas tradition wherein nine dawn masses are held starting December 16, which will culminate on Christmas Eve).

Parallel to the nine-day Simbang Gabi, Eden will bring the goodness of Filipino dishes to Pinoys in nine different towns including Bacolod City, Iloilo, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu City, Naga, Butuan City, Laoag and Pampanga.

“We may have lost a lot during the typhoons but the strong winds and torrential rains are not enough to dampen of faith and optimism for these Holidays,” says Alex Tacderas, Category Marketing Manager for Cheese and Spoonables, Kraft Foods Philippines. “That’s why Kraft Eden Cheese is bringing Keso de Gallo, to multiply the joy of this season for families nationwide because we believe that Christmas deserves a longer feast and merry-making.”

In cooperation with top media outlet ABS-CBN, non-government organizations and the local government units, Eden has been setting up programs and activities in different towns, wherein a cook-off was also held for the most innovative native dish that incporporated Eden cheese participated by various schools. The winning dishes were then served as a treat to the churchgoers after the mass. Not only did the people tastes their native bibingka and puto bumbong (traditional egg and rice cakes) made more delicious with Eden cheese, they were also able to make new cheese dishes that everyone enjoyed emphasizing Eden’s versatility campaign, because we can do so much with Eden Cheese.

Known for its quality and wholesome taste, Eden has been a staple of every discerning foodie’s kitchen. From simple snack to sophisticated main courses, Eden cheese products can be relied upon to deliver great tasting meals. A versatile ingredient which easily fits in a variety of local dishes, the use of Eden cheese products is as limitless as the imagination of its user – just like how immeasurable this season’s joy is.

“With Eden cheese, we will explore the wonders of our country’s cuisine while providing an extended feast that will bring joy and delight to as many families as possible,” ends Tacderas.

Undercover Grasshoppers - Frantic Static

Sometimes it makes me wonder
Why I still end up hooked on someone like you
Oh and things, they go wrong at the right moment
When my body screams for pain your world satisfies
Your heart mourns when I leap for joy

//Come dance with me one more time before I abandon your love//

I, give up now
I cannot lie anymore
Not to myself than to you
Cuz’ when I’m with you
This is how my world resolves
In a fragile state of love and hate
In a fragile state of love and hate

I’ve turned myself deaf to the noises you make
And I make believe they were music to my ears
Should I stay or should I leave
Nothing more but to hope at least

I have your heart but at a price I pay
I have your love but at a price I pay

//I, give up now
I cannot lie anymore
Not to myself than to you
Cuz when I’m with you
This is how my world resolves
In a fragile state of love and hate
In a fragile state of love and hate//

Songwriter's Night

cebu songwriters night

22 Tango Records: Music is Collaborative!

We’ll go and abide by this tagline.

…because whether you like it or not, believe it or not, music is collaborative.

Even if you think you can pull off a ‘do-it-all-on-your-own’ production or a one-man-band live performance – music is still collaborative, at least, between you and your listener.

Music is always collaborative. A songwriter collaborates with an arranger, an artist works with a producer, a band cooperates with a business manager, a guitarist plays closely with a bassist, and a bassist with a drummer, a vocalist sings with a back-up singer, so on and so forth. It is simply the natural order of things.

The core founders of 22 Tango Records are musician collaborators who believe in this undeniable truth and who feel a sense of urgency and responsibility of not only collaborating with artists in terms of creating music but also in the spirit of entrepreneurship. 22 Tango Records aims to be the venue where a creative business venture is to take place between artists. With a platform that imposes on creating a solid support system and loyal following, 22 Tango targets the local non-traditional music listeners, as well as the Filipino and non-Filipino niche in the US and eventually the world.

Our mission - - local.
Our vision - - global.

Why? Why not?!

22 Tango Records is an independent record label which served as the ghost vanity record label of our main artist CATTSKI. Now after our 3rd release, Sound Minds Speak Volumes, we the founders, decided to finally come out from the shadows by releasing our first record with our main artist CATTSKI as a collaborator while we introduce our new artist ZAFRA. The collaboration, Kismet The Singles, has been released November 2009.

Slowly, we are opening our arms to embrace other artists to be under our care in the fields of album production, promotion, distribution, merchandising, and creative business management. 22 Tango Records also works closely with music publishing company ICO Music, the exclusive publisher who will catalogue our artists’ creative material.

22 Tango Records hopes to sign artists who express a “particular” interest in the basic art of songwriting, with the highest regard to the marriage of words and music in its basic form. We have a soft spot for those who can make a perfect tango of lyrics and melody with a strong sense of substance and stimulating messages. With this as a necessary dynamic, the technicalities in arrangement and audio production will then be considered.

We believe those are the necessary ingredients – basic songwriting and modern studio production – to make a really good material at this age of accessible digital music.

Like we always say, it takes two to tango.

We at 22 Tango Records, wish to collaborate with artists who share with us the same musical sentiments and standards. Luckily, we see a lot of those around. And so, we go to work.

Consider this a public announcement.
